Day without Debts

Day without Debts
On 17th November, we celebrated the Day without Debts. It was the seventh such occasion in Poland and the fifth in Romania. On 15th November, we had similar holidays for the fourth time in Czechia and for the third time in Slovakia. Day without Debts is an excellent opportunity to consider the financial situation you are in. It is also a good moment to repay these small amounts, as insignificant as they might be, you owe your family or friends.  On 17th November, KRUK Group animated several educational actions to show indebted people that it's worth to contact the creditor and solve financial problems. Day without Debts in Gdańsk On 17th November in the District Employment Agenc in Gdańsk, the advisors from KRUK Group together with the Society for Promotion of Financial Education answered the questions about the means of managing with debts. Participants had also an opportunity to check their files in the ERIF ERIF Register of Debtors for free at the consulting desk. Each visitor received a package of useful materials prepared to improve home budget managements. It was not a coincidence that Gdańsk was chosen as the seat of that campaign, as it had been the first city in Poland to introduce a widespread operation to help its citizens fight debts with the use of, amongst others, the Economic Security and Aid for Indebted People Program launched in October.  Day without Debts in Poznań In Poznań, also on 17th November, KRUK Group and the Aid for Indebted People Program Association organised a conference on the subject "Unemployment and debts—reason of cause? In search for more effective solutions" targeted at people whose everyday duties concern those in the crisis of unemployment and social exclusion. Social study As a part of the Day without Debts celebrations, KRUK Group prepared, like every year, a social study. Together with Dom Badawczy Maison company, we have developed a project titled "A Portrait of Poles in Debts". Based on the survey results, we managed to distinct 5 different types of people in debt. These include: the Forgetful, Indebted for Others, Careless, Lost, and Avoiding. The research showed that there is no specific type of a person in debt and that each case should be treated separately. The Day without Debts is the best opportunity for everyone in debt to contact their creditors and solve financial problems. It's worth to take that first step and enjoy life without debts.
