Piotr Stępniak has a university degree. In 1992, he received a BA (Bachelor of Arts) degree from the University of Guelph, Canada. In 1995, he earned his MSM (Master of Science in Management) degree from the Purdue University, USA, and an EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) diploma from the Rouen Business School in France.
He gained knowledge and experience working in managerial roles: (i) between 1985 and 1992 at Air Canada, Toronto, (ii) in 1992–1997 at PepsiCola Int'l, (iii) in 1998 at Bank Handlowy S.A. of Warsaw (iv) in 1999–2000 as Development Director at ARMARK, Toronto, Canada, (v) in 2000–2001 as Marketing Director, and in 2001–2005 as Vice President of the Management Board at Lukas S.A. and Lukas Bank S.A., (vi) in 2005–2008 as President of the Management Board at Getin Holding S.A.
Mr Stępniak also has a wealth of experience built over years of service as member of supervisory boards at numerous companies: (i) in 2003–2004 at Europejski Fundusz Leasingowy S.A., (ii) in 2003–2007 at TU Europa S.A., (iii) in 2005–2006 at Getin Leasing S.A., (iv) in 2005–2008 at Powszechny Dom Kredytowy w Wrocławiu S.A., Carcade Sp. z o.o. (Russia), Fiolet S.A. and Open Finance S.A., (v) in 2007–2008 at Prikarpattya Bank (Ukraine), (vi) in 2006–2008 at Noble Funds TF1 S.A., (vii) in 2008–2009 at Fundusz Mikro Sp. z o.o., (viii) in 2008–2013 at Skarbiec Asset Management Holding S.A. From 2005 to 2008, Mr Stępniak served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Getin Bank S.A., while in 2006–2008 he held the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Noble Bank S.A.
Currently, he is a member on the supervisory boards of the following companies: BFF Bank S.p.A, BFF Polska S.A, Grupa Kęty S.A., VRG S.A., and W.Kruk S.A.
