KRUK releases information on recoveries and investments in Q3 2026
Recoveries from debt portfolios purchased by the KRUK Group in Q3 2026 totalled PLN 960 million, down by 5% year on year and by 8% compared with recoveries in Q2 2026. The deviation between actual and projected recoveries in Q3 2026 was PLN 8 million*. Recoveries from January to September 2026 totalled PLN 2,971 million, up by 2% year on year.
“Across all markets, recoveries in Q3 totalled PLN 960 million. Although they were 1%** above our accounting assumptions for the period, they fell short of our operational expectations. Recoveries in Spain are improving, but August showed stronger seasonality than we had anticipated, which partly extended into September. In Romania, the macroeconomic environment is deteriorating and the Romanian leu continues to weaken, which is not helping us. Recoveries in Poland accounted for nearly 40% of total recoveries and were broadly in line with our operational expectations, as were recoveries in Italy,” says – said Piotr Krupa, CEO of KRUK S.A. “– In Poland, we launched the MVP of our new operating system at the end of July, and the initial results for cases processed in the new environment are promising. We are continuing intensive transformation work in each of our markets. This is an important project for us, but also a highly demanding one. We need to be patient, as the greatest benefits of this wide-ranging transformation will become visible in a few years’ time.”.
In Q3 2026, the KRUK Group invested PLN 347 million in debt portfolios with a nominal value of PLN 1.4 billion, compared with PLN 622 million of investments in debt with a nominal value of PLN 2.8 billion in Q3 2025. Purchases of unsecured retail debt accounted for 93% of all purchases. From January to September 2026, the KRUK Group invested a total of PLN 1,212 million in debt portfolios with a nominal value of PLN 4.2 billion.
“We made most of our Q3 2026 investments outside Poland, accounting for 80% of total investments. We were active in every market, including Spain, which accounted for 38% of investments during the period. KRUK’s level of investment reflects both strong competition and our continued investment policy discipline and expected returns. Our approach in this respect has not changed. The fourth quarter is typically the busiest period for transactions, and we will actively participate in them,” concluded Piotr Krupa.
Full data for the Q3 2026 will be published on 27 October 2026.
